Thanks Cyrille i,m trying this sunscreen 1 week ago and I love it!! it's very very fluid and light.

There’s a dupe for the Shaka Fluid here in NL by Ambre Solaire Sensitive Expert Fluid. It’s about half the price and can be even less when it goes on sale. I haven’t had trouble using it even though I have rosacea and use tretinoin (for almost 2 years).

This sunscreen disappears on the skin, but it has alcohol and it ruined my face. I understand it's needed for the formula, but I try to use it sparingly now.

Michelle Lara

Hello, is it safe to use during pregnancy?

Cyrille, I am not sure if you’ve tried it but the Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive UV Face Fluid has a practically identical ingredients list to Shaka but, oddly, it is more matte on my skin and doesn’t irritate it or break me out like Shaka. It’s the strangest thing. They did add hyaluronic acid to the formula unlike Shaka. Do you think that has anything to do with why it doesn’t bother my skin or why it absorbs better than Shaka?

Hi, I'm a new subscriber! Have you done a review on any of the Avene organic sunscreens? If you haven't, I can't wait to hear you do one. If you have, I need to look harder for it LOL

sukhman sandhu

We dont have shaka fluid in canada, we have ultra fluid, is it the same?

Chemical sunscreens do not protect me enough.

Putra IGP

Yeah PA rating is guessing. I wish they will renew the rating system with a better one.

Sally Reid

I love this product! Thanks for the advice on layering :-)

I use the tinted version of this product, does this change anything? Is the formula still good?

Blush Curls

Very informative thank you! So have I understood correctly: with the Japanese/Korean/thinner textured/gel textured sunscreens it’s best to use those in Winter? And then thicker creams in Spring/Summer to ensure full protection? I work outside year round and want to make sure I protect my skin properly but really thick creams year round become a chore! So I’d love to try a gel sunscreen during winter. Thanks again!

Tatiana T

Hello Cyrille! I LOVE shaka fluid, But I had to change it because when I started using a little bit of retinol (neutrogena retinol, to build the tolerance of my skin and start using vitamin A) my skin started to get irritated and burned a little. It must be the alcohol in the sunscreen? I have ordered mineral sunscreen on Amazon because here in Belgium I cannot find. But now, with the virus situation I’m skeptical and I don’t want to order anymore. What sunscreen do you suggest to buy here in Belgium? I will be soon out of my mineral sunscreen. Thanks!

Annie Lord

What do you think about Australian Gold spf50 tinted ?

Bebop Rovina

Why mine has no PA++++ symbol?

Carolina Gialdi

Hi cyrille! I love your sunscreen videos. Can you do a video of Isdin sunscreens? You mentioned one that has 60 of uva protection

Rebeca Love

Would love a review on the Uriage sunscreen :) I tried to find the XP version but I believe it was discontinued.. which is unfortunate because that one was a PPD of 65 which is one of the highest I've seen at an affordable price :/

I'm using Tretinoin from one year. The only sunscreen that does not make me very very oily is the Shaka fluid and the Anti-shine line. If my skin is very irritated by a pealing for example, I feel a little bit of tingling for the first 10 seconds, and that's all ? Since the Antishine is very very mat and peals I often mix both of them... I am not sure if that can interfere the filters. What do you think, since they are the same brand with similar filters?

Peter Kloosterman

I find the shaka fluid too liquidy, really difficult to apply the recommended amount. And it's still quite shiny. My skin was a bit more irritated with this sunscreen and some visible capillaries that I had lasered away returned during the time I used this sunscreen, I suspect the alcohol, because it stings a bit as well when I apply it. The positive, it doesn't feel heavy and it's whitecast free, with overall good uv filters.

Vague Sombre

Thank you so much for your content ! Are you considering testing the LRP spf50 face mist ? I don't usually trust sprays but this could be revolutionary for reapplication don't you think ? Cheers !

Isabel YP

Omgg yesss a review of isdin!!!!!!! ❤️❤️

Way too much denatured alcohol, it's second on the list which means it must be a high concentration! I tried this before and it really dried out my skin ?

David Sotir

Thank you for your review of this product. I'm concerned about denatured alcohol or ethanol in sunscreens as I thought alcohol causes photosensitive damage to skin when exposed to UV. Is this true?

Chacha Xiao

Hi Cyrille ! I heard that LRP have changed their formular recently for the whole anthelios line. I haven't purchased any because of the confinement and I don't think the information on their site is updated. If you are interested you can check them out ?

Ray en Patricia

Great informative video again. Lucky for me My skin tolerates the fragrance free version sunscreen. However, I am going to start with Retinol so thanks for the heads up! Going to try the Ultra. And please a review of the ISDN. I see them a lot in Belgian pharmacies and I always was curious about this brand.

Niu devrait bientôt sortir une crème solaire minérale 50+ (normalement prévue en juin), est-ce que c'est possible d'avoir un avis dessus quand elle sortira ? :p

Nickiii Mar

Can you tell me about the la roche posay "comfort" one? I can't find it online so is it possible they changed the name or the bottle? Its supposed to be for sensitive skin.
And also I have sensitive acne prone combination skin. I don't want shiny/greasy. & I don't want the salicylic acid because I already use that ingredient in other products. Please help

Thành Ngô Tống Lộc

Please review the Isdin sunscreen!

Clem Kimbembe

? Ahlala toujours un plaisir de voir tes contenus❤️

emma /a

Also, can you please please review the Bioderma Photoderm Kids Spray SPF 50+ (PPD 39)?

It's BETTER than the LRP Shaka. It's alcohol and fragrance free, filters are Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S, Uvinul T150, Octisalate and Homosalate. Completely transparent. Suuuper gentle since it's a kids sunscreen.

It's very lightweight, but it's more moisturizing and slightly more emollient/viscous than Shaka, so it's easier to apply the correct amount. It has the consistency of a lightweight lotion/emulsion. Very elegant. It's seriously amazing ❤️?

I'm currently using the Photoderm Max Family Milk, but I much prefer the Kids Spray.

What I don't like about the Shaka is that it's basically water, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to apply 1/4 tsp. I gave up on it for this reason

Tyko Tate

The most comprehensive sunscreen dissection i've ever watched. Thankyou.

Maria Vasileiou

Is these sunscreen Mineral?

Tang Tze Piew

Interestingly this Anthelios line always having Mexoryl SX all the way down to the bottom of the ingredient lists, like 3rd or 4th from bottom. The Mexoryl XL also somewhere middle of the list, like 12th or 13th from top. No idea if they are significant in product.

On the other hand, sunscreen from L'Oréal such as the UV Perfect line is having these uv filtres way up there, like the 3rd or 4th after water.

I'm so annoyed that brands don't disclose the exact uvapf. I realized that lrp shaka and garnier ambre solaire uv fluid have almost the exact same ingredient list. I messaged with Garnier and they told me that their uv fluid also has a minimum uvapf of 46

Gemala Cempaka Hapsari

Is this water and sweat resistant? For how long?

why dont you recommend hado labo white any more. i bought that one!

Is it true that because sunscreens are tested on bare skin it is not known how much one sunscreen can protect when we put a moisturizer before it? So i was wondering can we put sunscreen on bare skin after cleansing

I must be the only person who finds the Shaka really greasy, even despite the high alcohol content :(

Chacha Xiao

yes Isdin please!!!!I love the texture!!!

Alice L

Wow, this was the most comprehensive and detailed sunscreen review ever! And I loved it. Thanks Cyrille! I have a question but it’s not about this sunscreen (sorry!), would you consider reviewing Altruist SPF 50? I’d like to know its UVA protection :)

Lauryane Lau

It says No Parfume - dough it smells a lot of parfume!

Also it says Its for Sensetive Skin dough there os a lot of alcohol in it ... This doasnt make sense for me ...

My skin tickles when using it...

Can you kindly recomend a sunscreen for very sensetive skin that nureshes and hidrates skin?

Anna H

Cyrille, what do you think about the new Roche Posay Anthelios Anti Imperfections?
I'm curious about your opinion about its filters. Thank you! Great job, I love your science backed reviews and, of course, your accent!

You should try uriage bariésun xp cream spf50+ it has a ppd of 65 or Altruist SPF 50 which is ppd 45+

Putra IGP

60 UVAPF?? Sunscreen is going through amazing journey ??

Ekaterina Kozlovskaia

Hi Cyrille. Love Shaka. Also because it's one of few that is friendly to my eyes. Another one is Galderma Daylong Extreme. Have you tried it? Supposed to have very high UVA protection too. Thanks a lot, your content is great!

Loo Loo

I used this sunscreen for years, then I think they changed the formula. It left yellowish streaks on my face and it pilled up as the day went on. I now use Avène sunscreen without any issues.

emma /a

Cyrille, would you be able to review the Ultrasun Extreme SPF 50+? I would love to see you apply it. I want to know your thoughts before I import it from Europe. Thank you!! ☺️?

Love this sunscreen ?

matt jackson

The ppd of this sunscren is 42.At least thats what it says on LRP website. At least the european one.

Wow this one sounds amazing! Will definitely try it one day, but i have to work through my sunscreen stash first haha

Hi Cyrille! I was set on buying the Hada Labo Gel sunscreen (thanks to your reco) but I'm now debating whether to get this amazing LRP one instead after watching this video. (Maybe I should get both? ?)
Anyway, which do you think is better for someone with combination skin who lives in a tropical, hot & humid Asian country? I have fair Asian skin that easily burns. Greasiness on the face is okay with me as long as I prevent premature aging! ☺️
As always, love your videos! I watch every morning! ?
Also, when I put on cream on my hands, I just spread the excess from my palms to my elbows so as not to waste any product ?

When papers say “avobenzone is stabilised by tinsorb s” is the avobenzone completely stabilised or does it just slightly prolong it?

I'm confused, in other websites the PPD is 39.

Vanessa Malik

Hi Cyrille, What European "Hard Core" sunscreen would you recommend for someone who has tan super sensitive skin, with light rosacea and an oily T-zone but very dry cheeks? I would appreciate a recommendation for face & body. It's been very difficult to find something with high protection that works. Thank you so much!

Tang Tze Piew

I'm surprise Ecamsule is the third ingredient from them bottom of the list.

Lynn Gill

I have this in my SPF arsenal and it's lovely - I find it very moisturising and plays nicely under makeup.

Orange Machine

How do you know that 1 pump delivers 200 mg?

Blue is the sea

Thank you for the review
Have u tried anthelios dry touch from lrp ?

Denisa Kluzová

My favourite sunscreen ❣️ I have combo and sensitive skin also I have fungal acne and this one is awsome. First sunscreen which does not irritate my eyes ?

i do the same thing with a towel on my palms!
that sunscreen seems too expensive...is there a larger bottle
i think i tried that brand before and it stung my eyes...maybe it was a different formula

Did you also try the anti-shine version of this?

Eleni Matangi

This is great! May I ask if I could make it lighter to apply on my skin by mixing it with Hydrabio TOnique by Bioderma? I do this for my hydrating cream by ordinary with AHA factors. Thanks!

Lior Daniel

Thanks for the recommendation. I have oily skin and was afraid it might be too much for me. Turned out to be very nice and moisturizing ?

Xinyuan Grollová

Hey, thank you very much for this video, may I ask if you know this suncreen is non-comedogenic or not? Thank you

Peter Kloosterman

There's 5% alcohol in that LRP product (5% BEMT, 5% Octisalate, 3.5% UvinulT150, 3% MexorylXL, 3%BMDBM, 0.297% Mexoryl SX). I found it quite sticky, and shiny, but not drying and no whitecast. Have you tried the ACM DÉPIWHITE M SPF50+, MUTI SPF50, Biodermal Kids Zonnemelk SPF50+ or Derma Zonnelotion SPF50 (75mL) already? They also have great sunscreen actives.

Delly Delly

Ohhh yes. You are so on point. Am a brown skin Girl and this sunscreen is just so perfect on me. No white cast.

But the only thing which I have noticed is that after 4 hours , my face especially the T zone area becomes so oily.
It doesn't stink as well.

Alexandra S.

Super late to the Party but how does the shinyness compare to the SVR cicavit Spf50?

Amy van Bree

Delighted you like this as much as I do! Thanks for a great review ?

Good review and even better now you include the demo of the application of the sunscreen on your skin/face. I am looking for a body sunscreen. Thinking of this one vs Ultrasun vs Altruist. What do you think about Altruist Sunscreen? Dr. Dray loves it. Also it would be good for you to do a video to compare a few different body sunscreens...thanks :)

I absolutely love this sunscreen ! I use it under makeup with out any problem everyday. I tried other sunscreens but they broke me out ( kose suncut essence). I have repurchased it sooo many times. It truly provides excellent protection. Once I was out in an amusement park all day more or less under the sun, and my face had 0 tan(without reapplication! ). Ps I have dry skin so I do prefer a slightly dewy finish, hate completely mat and drying ones xd

How would this compare to Avene Cleanance Sunscreen SPF 50+ ? Which would you choose?

Beth Dahl

I actually think the LRP kids lotion SPF 50+ is lighter weight than this one, and it didn't sting my eyes, personally. Plus it's much more affordable due to the large packaging, and the PPD is 39 if I remember correctly :)

Julia Fish

As sunscreen is the most important part of our antiaging process, thank you for sharing your in depth knowledge allowing your viewers to understand the differences and select a superior one x

Vivien Cociu

You are gorgeous, thanks

Benjamin Chai

Hi Cyrille. Currently using skin aqua watery gel spf50+ pa++++ with seven filters do you thinks it's enough uva protection.
Octinoxate, ensulizole, uvinul a plus, uvinul t150, neo heliopan ap, tinosorb S&M

Chacha Xiao

Wow looks really promising!!! Does it sting the eyes ? My eyes don't really react when I apply a sunscreen but around 45 minutes later I often "cry" in the middle of the street ??

Gloria A

Hi, I’m really enjoying your videos, you are so well informed. I also love this Sunscreen, it’s effective and it sits well under makeup. Have you reviewed Vichy products, if not would you?

George the Warlock

Does anybody know if this leaves a white cast?

Denis Pugelj

I got the Dear Klairs sunscreen first and didn't like because it felt like my skin wasn't "breathing", like it made a coat and it was quite weird if I sweated....a big NO unfortunately.....they I tried some testers of this LRP Ultra sunscreen and I haven't used any other sunscreen since! <3 love it, for the price is excellent, like your wearing nothing, no fragrance at all and you don't get greasy over time. This is my holy grail and I hope they will never stop making it <3

Jules M.

Content que l'on partage le même avis sur cet spf ? j'attendais cette vidéo avec impatience ??

Thank youuu looks like this is the next sunscreen I am gonna try ?
Also I wanted to maybe ask if you could or will review some day the sunscreen from Uriage the Bariesun? I mean this one - https://www.uriage.com/AA/en/products/bariesun-creme-spf50-1
I would love to know what you think about it! ❤️

Thank you for your super helpful and informative reviews, keep going!!! ??❤️

Paul Williams

Bonjour! I adore your videos, especially appreciating the science. There are far too many skincare videos of sincere, but but subjective reviewers, essentially intuitively responding to products.
Also, I might say as an American, your American English is impeccable, as you have clearly mastered idiomatic expressions. It is quite "cute," as a native English speaker, to hear such idiomatic expressions from a Frenchman. Your accent is also adorable. As an aside, I speak French. I am told my accent is "adorable" to be fair.

Hello, is Zinc Oxide percentage important in a sunscreen? Does the percentage of the filters affect the amount of protection against UV?

I bought it last week. I currently have acne and this is definitely too much greasy for me, but I have to say that considering the amount of filters the formula and the finish are amazing. I’m a chemist and I am super picky about sunscreens. Definitely recommended.

Freya Marine

Thank you for the well informed video....you are always the best......

emma /a

Cyrille thank you for the video. ❤️

Can you please review the Bioderma Photoderm Kids Spray SPF 50+? It has a PPD of 39 according to Bioderma website: https://www.bioderma.com/en/our-products/photoderm/kid-spray ((click on "Good to Know"))

This is a LOVELY sunscreen and comes in 200 mL. It's more elegant than LRP Shaka, which I also used, but much more economical. But I really need your opinion on it, especially the filters used. I'm on a mission to find the best anti-aging sunscreen. PPD 39 is very high I think. Filters are Uvinul A Plus, Homosalate, Tinosorb S, Octisalate and Uvinul T150.

I don't use Asian sunscreens because they do not provide sufficient protection, in my opinion.

Also how do you feel about Octocrylene as a filter? EWG says it generates oxidative stress in the skin. I want to try Altruist SPF 50 but it contains Octocrylene so it makes me nervous. Have you tried Altruist? It's supposed to have a PPD of 45??

Any thoughts on collagen as a humectant?

Thank you ❤️

Karl N

Hi guys, anthelios ultra cream sensitive eye innovation spf 50+..probably the best sunscreen I tried so far, with a huge BUT: yellowish, sallow color. ?
My opinion about this sunscreen. Hope this helpful to you.

Yes, myth busted: chemical sunscreen leaves the cast, just no the white one.
I love this sunscreen because:
1) high uvb and high uva rating of ppd 35
2)fragrance free
3)moisturizing, dewy finish..rich, but not shiny in my combination skin, no oily, even with reapplication at multiple times (as we should). So ??
4) it doesn't ball up (how I hate this)
5)it doesn't sting my eyes
6)it goes smoothly without white cast or messy face.
But again, yellowish cast indeed.
I have fair skin type, this yellow finish is an issue for me and - I'm sure- for others.
Yellow color comes from uv filters and probably also from the presence of an extract (Scutellaria baicalesis).
If you have dark skin type, this sunscreen is for you. If you have pale skin or the medium one, but you want to keep your natural skin color or you want a bright face, it's not, at least in terms of color. My humble opinion.
So...I really do hope La Roche Posay will can fix/neutralize this color somehow as soon as possible. And no, I don't think at all the answer is adding a little bit of titanium dioxide/zinc oxide, because the texture and the elegant formula would be inevitably affected, at least with reapplication- and reapplication is a must. I hope for a solution ?
Anyway thanks Cyrille for this great review, as usual.
Does anyone have the same issue?

Stavros K

It contains 5% ethanol.

La Roche Posay Anthelios xl Anti-shine TINTED SPF+50 review| Sunscreen for oily skin

11 934 views | 8 Jul. 2020

Hey everyone today's

Hey everyone today's review is about La Roche Posay xl Anti-shine Tinted spf +50. I have oily skin and it is a struggle to find correct sunscreen that wouldn't make me look even oilier. I did a lot of research and came across this mattifying sunscreen. It is a tinted sunscreen so you can use it as a foundation as well. What sunscreen do you use? let me know in the comments below

Follow me on my instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/skincare_cabinet/

Hey , Please I want to order it from a website but I wonder if the tinted colour is the same or we choose ?
Ps: In the website I'm going to order from they don't mention it

Hey guys! Hopefully you will find this video helpful, let me know what sunscreen do you use?

How's the coverage? Maybe like a bb cream? And what's the shade like in MAC or other foundation tone for reference?

Freedom Life

The tinted version has a PPD of 22, the untinted version has a PPD of 31

What does tintied one mean?

The way you apply sunscreen is so wrong! Sunscreen must be applied liberally. Not in such extreme small amount like here. Therefore this application isn’t realistic at all. Since it’s doesn’t reflect a real-life application due its amount.

You do know that you need to apply half of a table spoon of sunscreen to actually get the protection right?

Is it better or Vichy teinted one Is better?

anti shine or shaka fluid? which is more matte?

Badly spread on your face, yellowish tone, and one can see you have foundation on your face. Not impressed!

Thanks for this review! I wonder if it would be ok to apply this product on nude skin, without moisturizer and all... Can you try and see if it would moisturize enough? I don't like applying several layers on my skin...
