This was soo helpful!! ? I am for sure going to make the switch to one of these sunscreens
This is so helpful!!!! I’ve been looking for a new face and body sunscreen for years, never put in the time to research all this myself, and I cannot wait to try a couple of these out!
Helpful guide on your website! Makes it easier to get to the bottom of what to purchase.
Great job Grace! I need to buy better sunscreen! Question though, will I still get a tan if I wear a 30 spf you recommend?
You’re amazing! I love the info graphics! So informative
WARNING! Reports indicate
WARNING! Reports indicate possible links between Banana Boat Sunscreen and Chemical Burns! Today I share what you need to know when choosing a sunscreen that is right for you and your family.
There are many options when it comes to choosing a sunscreen and not all sunscreen is created equal. Every sunscreen has benefits and shortcomings, but some sunscreen uses chemicals that may actually be toxic to you and your children. These chemical based sunscreens use chemicals that can cause tissue damage, sterility, infertility, asthma, allergies, and various forms of cancer including melanoma and breast cancer.
In Canada multiple children have reportedly experienced 2nd degree burns that were unrelated to sun exposure and actually chemical burns after using banana boat sunscreen. These instances are still being investigated so it is not yet proven that banana boat sunscreen is causing chemical burns to everyone, but it could be a skin sensitivity specific to certain chemicals.
This is not an unusual story, when there are constant reports of sunscreens melting purses, sunglasses and other plastics.
Today we hope to help you find the best sunscreen option for your family by telling you what sunscreen that the Environmental Working Group (EWG) recommends as their #1 sunscreen pick. I also share an all natural sunscreen option that you can make at home.

I know this is an old post but the guy giving thus review is not lying. My daughter took four of the grandkids to the beach this last weekend, and she used BANANA BOAT SPORT sunscreen, she had to bring the kids home soon after. Because all of them were blistered and burnt. When my daughter called the company they told her she left the kids in the sun to long . Then told her maybe their allergic to it and my daughter says not all the kids. When my daughter left a complaint on their website, they took it off and blocked her.
PLEASE. People do not put BANANA BOAT SPORT on your kids. Thanks for the review.
Thank you I am returning my banana boat sunscreen
Loved the ending to this video, made me laugh! It has made me wonder whether using the sunscreen we use for Rosie is perhaps another reason that her Eczema flares up on hot day, Ill have to check which one it is in the morning but I'll let you know for sure then :)

I love how your videos are so informative. I just bought Alba Botanica Sun Screen. It's a cruelty-free natural mineral sunscreen that is reef safe:)
Nanoparticles in industrial sunscreen products can harm the cells and can lead to cell death. A few studies about this topic:
1: "Distinctive biological effects of different nanoparticles commonly used in cosmetics and medicine coatings" - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3125209/
2: "Neurotoxic effect of active ingredients in sunscreen products" - https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214750017300288
3: "Nanosized zinc oxide induces toxicity in human lung cells - Europe PMC" - https://europepmc.org/article/pmc/pmc3749605
4: "Evidence that nanoparticles in sunscreens could be toxic if accidentally eaten" - https://phys.org/news/2010-04-evidence-nanoparticles-sunscreens-toxic-accidentally.html
Nature provides us with many amazing things, not just food. "Experimental Skin Tests In Spain’s Hot Sun" - https://deeprootsathome.com/plant-based-sun-protection/ - Carrot root oil is very effective at protecting the skin from sunburn! EVIDENCE PHOTOS!
Unfortunately the profit greedy industry doesn't want us to know that sunscreen products with nano particles are not good. The skin is like a sponge that absorbs everything and much of it gets into the capillaries and bloodstream and then damages the organs and the nervous system. e.g. nano particles.
This is definitely one of your better videos..! Thx. to you and the people in the clips you show.....!
Thank you for posting this! Such important information about chemical sunscreens and how detrimental they are to the oceans and the entire planet! I loved your advice, well said. And I love your idea about the blanket, I want to try that when hiking and such... I actually think it looks pretty cool, lol... reminds me of biblical times and has a sort of ancient vibe when people lived more naturally and in-tuned to the earth. Now I want to get like a hemp blanket or some of the cool natural looking fiber and do the old middle east biblical thing for hikes and what not, I'm totally doing and I don't care if I look like a weirdo to the normies around me lol. So I'm grateful for the documentary you presented and I want to share that with others. I knew it was harmful to us but had no idea just how harmful it was to the environment and all life.
Oh, and don't forget how our own antioxidants protect us from sun damage. Drinking just two cups of green tea a day for just a period of weeks substantially offers built in sun protection, same with 3 tbsp of tomato paste a day, and these were just studies on people who probably ate a standard westernized diet. Imagine all the built in protection a WFPB vegan gets with a diet filled with tons of antioxidants. Dr. Greger has some cool info on his site and in his book about how the chlorophyl from plants which we get in our blood when we eat them, actually works with the sun to produce CoQ10 AND we can even experience a tiny bit of a photosynthesis. The sun also has every single light ray there is, I mean red light therapy is a thing because it's said to help muscle soreness, produce collagen, etc. I don't know if it's proven I believe NASA discovered it, but it's naturally in the sun.
Some of my thoughts on the second clip and incidentally the third as for when he spoke of UVA rays...
she doesn't need to trust the "blogosphere" to tell her the UVA protection rating of red raspberry seed oil, this is one of natural oils that's actually been tested, she just needs to go and read the scientific publication (there may be more than one, I only read the one). It does state that it offers UVA protection albeit at a lower rate than UVB (I don't remember the numbers exactly in the article), but substantial in any case. The issue is then actually getting AUTHENTIC red raspberry seed oil because SO many of these natural oil companies are not authentic (often not being the oil they're stating they sell in the first place), adulterated, or extremely processed even if stating otherwise. So it's so important to find these natural things from a trusted source. I found the company Berry Beautiful for red raspberry seed oil, they actually grow their own raspberries and are the actual manufacturers, not just the distributors–they're an awesome company. But with sun protection, I really don't buy into the whole UVA thing anyway. I don't think we need to stay out of the sun at peak hours, in fact if she's worried about UVA, that's redundant considering it's only the UVB that's highest at peak hours (form my understanding) and some doctors now ADVISE getting sun at these hours because you get the most vitamin D producing rays. I don't think we need to worry about UVA, I think that all we need to do is think with common sense and live like our ancestors did for millions of years, which is to eat a lot of plants, sleep at night and realize we're not nocturnal animals (yeah... quel surprise, our ancestors EVOLVED to live under the sun contrary to the sun-scare hype we're bombarded with), and go in the shade when we feel overheated or our skin starts to become irritated. I do not agree that UVA ages us, only in people eating an unnatural diet of animal products and low in whole plant foods and/or on medications that might create sensitivities to the sun or using topical products that cause irritation when in contact with the sun such as palmitate or even some essential oils or those drinking heavy in the sun which eats up our antioxidants in our skin. They (by they, I mean dermatology and the study or studies funded by them and as the one doctor up there pointed out, they have worked with pharmaceuticals when the sunscreen thing began) claim "lipid oxidation," well, turns out that our own natural serotonin protects against lipid oxidation and sunlight helps us create serotonin. This is one of many reasons I believe that the sun is actually good for us AND good for our skin, but we're just eating and living the wrong way. I personally believe they took a truth, that it can do this or that, and exaggerated it and left out other factors for their agenda. There's also been a study that showed that sunlight causes a reaction in human skin that signals some type of chemical to be sent up to our skin which promotes healing and protection of our skin and I had experienced this myself, but that isn't talked about or looked deeper into and that doesn't surprise me. It was a study conducted at a university but I can't remember which... I have the info saved somewhere. When I get my youtube channel I'm going to do a whole thing on the sun and in my thoughtful opinion, the grossly unjustified reputation it's been given in recent times. I have so much more to say about it.
I appreciate her "F U" to those green-washed companies... I used to buy from Kiss My Face a few years ago... these companies are truly sickening, probably even more so than commercial chemical sunscreen companies at least in a way because they deliberately outright mislead.
Your '' rule '' is great I always feel guilty when I use shower gel on me and other stuff, like I felt guilty back in the day when I was having a steak in my plate
